Water Infiltration Inspection

What is thermal imaging?

Thermal or infrared energy, is light that is not visible because its wavelength is too long to be detected by the human eye.  It's the part of the electromagnetic spectrum that we perceive as heat.  Unlike visible light in the infrared world, everything with a temperature above above absolute zero emits heat.  Even very cold objects, like ice cubes, emit infrared energy.  The higher the object's temperature, the greater the IR radiation emitted.  An infrared camera allows us to see what our eyes cannot.

Infrared Thermal Imaging (ITI) is a non-invasive, non-destructive way of evaluating conditions below the surface.  This allows us to detect small, but crucial differences in temperature throughout the house within the building materials.  Infrared Thermal Imaging allows us to locate moisture behind the walls, beneath the floors and above the ceilings.  Moisture often leads to mold growth inside your home.  Moisture in building materials can destroy structural integrity.  The first step in moisture problem remediation is to quickly and accurately locate and remove all sources of moisture.

An ITI INSPECTION can give you a reliable, accurate building diagnosis in the entire range of building problems, from post-catastrophe fire and flood investigations to chronic leaks and moisture problems. BUILDING ENERGY LOSS ASSESSMENTS can be done for Industrial, Commercial and Residential buildings. The scan consists of using the infrared camera to look for energy escaping the building. Lower utility bills will just add money to your pockets.

Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspections

Hammer Head Construction LLC has had many years building in coastal environments and knows that proper construction allows for a quality house to stand up to a coastal climate. Now we can also provide INFRARED THERMAL INSPECTIONS to further aid our commercial and residential clients. We are certified to make these inspections and as always, we pride ourselves in quality workmanship including inspections. We can also perform ENERGY ASSESSMENTS with the cutting edge technology of Infrared Thermal Imaging.
